Passionate about stargazing, I started a group on Telegram to organize trips to special low light pollution areas. However, checking the weather for these locations—especially cloud coverage over time—was a hassle. To solve this, I implemented a Telegram bot for our group that can: send daily 7-week summaries, identify potential trip days using a custom scoring function, and organize or cancel trips based on changing weather conditions and the number of participants.
